The Finance Department is run by Jerry Isler, Director. This department oversees all of the city's financial issues, which includes the Tax Division, city budget, annual appropriations, accounts payable, and city employee insurance and payroll.

The City of Gahanna is a conservative, well-run city with the City Council and Administration mindful of all financial decisions. This is demonstrated by the Moody's Bond Rating of Aa2 and the City having one of the lowest real estate tax millage of 2.4 mills and an income tax rate of 1 1/2%.

Real estate taxes are assessed and administered by the Franklin County Auditor's Office. They can be reached by calling (614) 462-3247 or by visiting their website at http://www.co.franklin.oh.us/auditor.

The Franklin County Auditor's Office recently completed its' six-year reappraisal of every property in the County. The new values will be the basis for the property tax bills that go out in December. The City of Gahanna saw an average increase in property values of 17%, which, based on millage approved through 12/31/04, will correspond to an average 2.77% increase in property tax bills. Please contact the Franklin County Auditor's Office for questions concerning a particular parcel.
