Stress-Less Living Classes

Classes are facilitated by Jacki Mann, a registered nurse, stress mastery consultant, and wellness coach, who works with groups and individuals in exploring strategies and developing skills for stress management.

 

Tai Chi Easy

Activating the Healer Within through gentle stretches, easy, slow movements and focused breathing.  Enhance your overall health with improved balance and greater vitality and reduce your stress at the same time. (Dress comfortably, mat optional)

Meditation for Stress-Less Living: The Basics

In this two-part series, we will take the mystery out of meditation through the exploration of various ways to quiet the mind and relax the body, in the quest to rediscover a state of inner peace and tranquility, as well as, to benefit from the healthy consequences of relaxation and meditation.  (Bring an exercise/yoga mat & dress comfortably)

Join our very experienced teachers who have studied with many great yoga teachers, including Rodney Yee, Colleen Seidman Yee, Doug Keller, Tim Miller, Cyndi Lee, Angela Farmer, Swami Ramananda and more to provide students with a “true” yoga experience.”

Hatha Yoga ABC’s

Explore the benefits of ASANA (yoga postures) to gently stretch and strengthen the body. Breathing techniques quietly relax the mind and emotions and develop a deep level of consciousness. You will become more aware of patterns that facilitate a healthy spine and a more relaxed and easeful body, mind and spirit.

Slow Flow Hatha Yoga

Gentle, slow flowing warm ups get the body and mind ready to move into a variety of more challenging flow series, including sun salutations and other creative flow movements. Meditation and breath work incorporated.  Modifications provided for all student levels.  This class will leave you feeling refreshed, relaxed, and energized.  Please bring a yoga “sticky” mat and 2 firm blankets.

Restorative Yoga

A gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to deepen the benefits of the poses. Restorative yoga provides an opportunity to reduce stress, restore health and move toward balance. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.

League Registration Information

Application Information

Application for league play are accepted only at the Department of Parks & Recreation office located at 200 S. Hamilton Rd. between the hours
of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Applications are available online at www.gahanna.gov. Registrations submitted through the drop box will not be accepted.

Complete applications must include a completed roster and all league fees including $10 for each non-Gahanna resident on the roster.
This procedure must be followed for acceptance of applications.

 

Fees

League fees are stated in the league description. A $10 additional fee for each non-resident is required, with a $100 non-resident maximum per team.

  

Rosters

Rosters must include all players with their name, address, zip codes and phone number. All players and substitutes must be over 18 years old and listed on the roster. No exceptions! If a roster does not contain all information it will be considered incomplete. Rosters are regularly checked for residency and eligibility.

 

Spring Monday Night Men’s 4v4 Flag Football League
The fastest show in grass! 4v4 is a fast paced game 2 games a night back to back. 7 week regular season with 1-2 Weeks of playoffs (all teams make playoffs); 2 Games a Night; 2-14 Minute Halves; 1 Referee on each; Flags Provided; Prizes for winning team.

Spring Football is played at McCorkle Park in Gahanna a great venue for flag football in Central Ohio. 7 Weeks regular season with 1-2 Weeks of playoffs (all teams make playoffs); 5 guys/ 3 girls on field; 2-20 minute halves; 2 referees per game; flags provided; awards for winning teams. Community Garden Plots--SOLD OUT!!
Grow your own herbs and vegetables at the community garden. A limited number of plots are still available. Year round gardening is now supported; current lease term ends October 31, 2013. Handicap plots have sold-out! Be sure to call early next year for best availability.
Raised beds are available in 2 sizes:

Gahanna Scrapbook Crop

Calling all scrapbook enthusiasts! Please bring all your scrapping supplies with you - stay all day or just a couple of hours. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day and scrapbook/stamping vendors if you need supplies. Cost includes lunch and drinks. Space is limited so register early. Gahanna Get Moving Team

The Gahanna Get Moving Team has walked thousands of miles over the past few years, training and talking their way to fun and fitness. Liz Plott leads this group and will share her wisdom on walking and healthy lifestyles.  The group meets at Creekside Park on every Saturday morning at 8 am, rain or shine.  Registration is required prior to participation.
