An Herbal Affair
Join us for herbal cocktail hour as you peruse new varieties of herbs all while supporting the Ohio Herb Education Center. Enjoy alcohol pairings from local beverage crafters and sample an array of herbal appetizers. Shop our sneak peek plant preview and beat the Herb Day rush. Each ticket includes six tasting tickets and a $5 Herb Center voucher towards your herbal inspired purchases--herbs included! Proceeds benefit the development of the Herb Center's front gardens. Preview and select herbs while sampling local brews, wines and spirits paired with hors d'oeuvres and desserts.

Come celebrate all things herbal. Shop an herb sale featuring 4000 plants and more than 100 varieties of herbs, including classic favorites like rosemary and basil. The sale will feature 72 cilantro plants of the santo variety (fast growing) and 132 slow bolting cilantro plants—the 2017 Herb Society of America’s Herb of the Year. Listen to speakers, watch an herbal cooking demo (led by Chef Michael Bell of Barrel & Boar), shop vendors and meet Herbal Trail partners (and sample their products) at the Visit Gahanna Herbal Trail Booth. Dine at one of Gahanna's select signature restaurants and celebrate the inaugural "Herb'n Restaurant Week" (May 7-13) by enjoying infused-infused culinary specials at select signature Gahanna restaurants.

Story Trail Opening
Gahanna Parks & Recreation has collaborated with the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and Gahanna School students to present the Gahanna Story Trail. Join us as we kick-off a brand new story. The new Story Trail provides an engaging opportunity for visitors to learn the value of being good stewards of our environment as they walk and read the story. The Story Trail is also part of the Gahanna Library’s Summer Reading Program encourages families to engage in the outdoors through reading.

The Creekside Live is a summer concert series with live entertainment headlined by popular bands from the Midwest. Bring your friends and coworkers to enjoy Creekside along with a variety entertainment, food and beverage sales that are oriented for active adults in the Central Ohio area on select Friday’s during the summer. Gahanna’s Great Outdoors Annual Summer Park & Rec Party
Celebrate National Recreation & Parks month by joining your Gahanna Parks & Recreation Department for live music with SING-a-long dress-up Karaoke, kayaking & canoeing on the Big Walnut Creek, interactive games and inflatables. The evening will conclude with “Cinema under the Stars” showing SING, as well as a camp fire with s’mores. Food trucks will be onsite for tasty snacks.

Let’s Move Summer Youth Challenge
Get active this summer in Gahanna. Explore the 750 acres of parkland and 13+ miles of trails this summer in the Let’s Move Summer Youth Challenge. Modeled after the Summer Reading Program participants will be rewarded for their active summer not only by enjoying the outdoors but also with special rewards at the end of summer. Kids will receive a Gahanna Parks passport which will allow them to track their steps and check off visiting each of the selected 8 parks.
Eligibility: Gahanna City residents and Gahanna-Jefferson School District students
Ages: 17 & under
Dates: May 26-Aug 11
60 minutes of play a day or 5000 steps, youth will explore 8 park areas during the summer, parents to verify achievements.
Pick up forms and register at the Gahanna Parks & Recreation office beginning May 27, between 8am-5pm M-F, first 200 participants will receive a pedometer to
6 weeks of completion = coupon sheet with area discounts and giveaways
8 weeks of completion = entered into a prize drawing
10 weeks of completion = Let’s Move Tshirt (limited to first 75)
