Board of Zoning & Building Appeals
The Board of Zoning & Building Appeals is required by Gahanna City Charter. The Board of Zoning & Building Appeals hears and decides appeals for exceptions to ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City pertaining to zoning, building, and landscaping in the City. The Board shall also have the power to hear and decide appeals from the decisions, measures
and orders of City officials, boards, commissions and agencies pertaining to zoning, building, and landscaping in the City. The Board shall decide its cases to afford justice and avoid unreasonable hardship to citizens. The Board’s authority shall be exercised subject to such reasonable standards as shall be prescribed by Council.
The Board of Zoning & Building Appeals meets as needed at the call of the Chair and at such other times as the Board may determine. Meetings are held on Thursdays, as needed, at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Zoning and Building Appeals consists of 5 members with 3 appointed by City Council and 2 appointed by the Mayor. Members serve staggered 3 year
terms. Current members are:
