Aussifit, LLC Donates $10,000 Worth of Exercise Equipment to The Police Department
AussieFIT, a new fitness club group with two locations in Ohio, is donated $10,000 worth of high-end commercial fitness equipment to the Gahanna Police Department. This donation fulfills a long-standing desire to provide officers with a professional work-out environment at no cost to the department or officers themselves.
The opportunity arose when Geoff Dyer, founder and owner of AussieFIT, realized that he would have additional equipment to sell and/or donate after he re-furbished his two locations with updated equipment. The donated items consist of 14 stations of selectorized resistance exercise equipment manufactured by FLEX. It is valued at over $10,000.
“We wanted to support our local police department,” said Dyer. “They are putting their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. We want to give them an opportunity to be at their peak performance at all times. We are happy to help.”
AussiFit will formally present the equipment to the Police Department in a brief presentation on Friday, December 30th at 10:00 a.m.
Gahanna Police Lt. Tom Basso said, “I personally feel very fortunate to be able to experience the
long term goal of a well-equipped and professional workout facility that we can be proud of.
It has literally been decades that we have been trying to accomplish this and on Friday we will begin preparing a location in our bays for our new equipment. Additionally, when our Chief came on board in 1997 he made it well known how important it was to be physically fit and ready to respond to any situation.”
