Big Walnut Trail Closed Between Woodside, Academy Green
The Big Walnut Trail, Section 3, between Woodside Green Park and Academy Park will be closed for construction from Tuesday, October 23 through Monday, December 31.
The Gahanna Department of Parks & Recreation will be placing barriers at the west end of Woodside Green Park bridge, the north side of the “hill” that leads up to Cherry Bottom Road and the southern end of the loop that goes around the hill.
You will still be able to walk on the trail at both locations, however, these closures will prohibit getting from one park to the other.
These closures are necessary for trail user safety as section 3 construction gets underway. The hill from Cherry Bottom Road to the north is one of two primary access points for construction traffic to access the site. Countless loads of dirt, gravel, pipe and other construction materials will be delivered down this very steep hill.
It is vitally important trail users abide by these closures and not continue their walk or run past the road closed signs.
