The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall Comes to Gahanna October 2 - 6!
About the Wall
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is a 3/5-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Stretching nearly 300 feet in length, the wall stands as a tribute to the more than 58,000 U.S. service members who gave their lives during the Vietnam War.
Its purpose is to provide communities across the nation with a space to remember, reflect, and heal — especially for those who may not have the opportunity to visit the national memorial in person.
The wall will bring higher traffic than usual through the weekend. Please prepare in advance for travel and parking for a smooth visit.
Volunteer Opportunities
We need your help to make this event possible! Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles. Whether you can give one shift or a full day, your time and effort will help us honor our heroes in a meaningful way.

Processional
See the wall as it makes it's final trek to Veteran's Memorial Park! The processional will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 2. The wall will begin at 825 Tech Center Drive, to Hamilton Road, to U.S. - 62, to Veteran's Memorial Park. The community is welcome to line the streets as the wall makes its way to Veteran's Memorial Park where it will be installed.
Opening and Closing Ceremony
Join us for the opening ceremony Friday, October 3! The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park (75 W. Johnstown Road). The closing ceremony will be held Monday, October 6 at 9 a.m.
There will be a variety of parking for those coming to view the wall.

- Creekside Municipal Lot
- Gahanna Swimming Pool Lot
- Friendship Park
- Public lot near Gahanna Sanctuary
- Parking will be available at 400 W. Johnstown Rd. beginning Friday, October 3,AFTER 4 p.m. and remain open Saturday and Sunday.
- Limited parking will be available at St. Matthews on Friday, October 3, Sunday, October 5, and Monday, October 6.
- Veteran's Memorial Park lot will be accessible parking only during this time. There will be ADA restrooms available on site.
Please Note: There will be no smoking, food or beverages, cell phones or pets allowed near the wall. We appreciate your cooperation.
Parking at a satellite location?
Thanks to the generosity of the Gahanna Parks and Recreation Foundation, complimentary shuttle will be available for Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall visitors to park at satellite locations. The shuttle is available from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

- Mifflin Township Operations Center (400 West Johnstown Road) PLEASE NOTE: this location is not available until AFTER 4 p.m. on Friday, October 3.
- CenterPoint Church (620 McCutcheon Road) PLEASE NOTE: this location is not available between 10 a.m. -12 p.m. on Sunday, October 5.
