Anticipated Gahanna New Community Authority Board of Trustees (3 seats)
Appointing Authority: City Council
Closing Date: Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.; Must be available for possible interview Monday, March 18, 2024 at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Description: 

The City Council is currently accepting applications for members in anticipation of the creation of an initial board of trustees of a New Community Authority (NCA) pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 349.04. Gahanna’s NCA is for the area known as the Crescent at Central Park, property consisting of 41 +/- acres adjacent to I-270 and the Hamilton Road interchange. NCAs have the power to purchase real or personal property; improve or sell real or personal property and community facilities; provide recreation, educational, health, social, vocational, and cultural activities primarily for residents of the district; collect service fees to cover community development programs; enforce collection of community development charges; issue debt and pay costs of operation and maintenance of community facilities.

  • General financial acumen, legal understanding, and/or experience in community development and board governance are desirable.  
  • Members shall serve two-year overlapping terms, with two of the initial citizen trustees serving an initial one-year term. 
  • Must be a qualified elector of the City of Gahanna.
  • Must not be employees of or have financial interest in Crescent Woods, LLC, CP Crescent, LLC, or CP Crescent Holdings LLC (Ortho One), collectively known as the “Developers”. 
  • Council-appointed and Developer-appointed trustees shall exercise all powers of the New Community Authority, including the adoption of administrative bylaws.
  • Must be bondable for the faithful performance of official duties.
