Key budget discussions will take place over the next few months, with opportunities for public comment. We encourage you to join us, stay informed, and make your voice heard, as we finalize the budget leading to Council’s final consideration and vote on the 2025 Appropriation Ordinance at the Regular Council Meeting on Monday, December 16.

The Hearing of Visitors - Members of the public have an opportunity at every Regular Council Meeting to make public comments during the Hearing of Visitors portion of the meeting. These comments can be made in person or virtually. Regular Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month.

EXCITING NEWS!

The new roundabout at the intersection of Taylor Station and Claycraft Roads is OPEN!  The improved design will make traffic flow through the area much smoother, faster, and safer.    This $2.9 million project was funded in part by a $999,999 grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission. The project began on July 8th and officially opened on September 13th,              23 days ahead of schedule and under budget.

Drivers may see minor traffic impacts when traveling through the intersection for a period of time (mostly in the evening/overnight hours) as additional improvements in the area are finalized.

speed signs

Public Safety

To further enhance the safety of our roadways, four speed awareness signs have been installed on major corridors into Gahanna. The goal of these signs is to make drivers aware of their speed and encourage them to slow down. The signs will not take or store images of drivers, vehicles or license plates. The signs currently are located along the following roadways:

  • Clark State Road west of Uxbridge Avenue
  • East Johnstown Road west of Hamilton Road
  • Hines Road between Boca Court and Blue Largo Court
  • Cherry Bottom Road between Millside Drive and Brookhill Drive

Information Technology

The City’s IT Department urges everyone to be on the lookout for possible “smishing” attacks. So, what are smishing attacks? They are text messages that mimic phishing emails. The name “smishing” is a combination of the words “SMS” and “phishing.” As with phishing emails, be mindful of the following:

  • If the message is unsolicited and from someone you are not affiliated with, it is better to ignore the message and block the sender.
  • Any messages that attempt to rush you into taking immediate action.
  • If the text message sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Text messages that request personal information or direct you to a website asking for personal information.
  • Any messages requesting payments.

If you receive a text message that looks legitimate and you are curious if it is real, contact the organization or company using a known number. Do not call the number on the text message.

Gahanna Energy Plus

The City of Gahanna is excited to introduce Gahanna Energy Plus - a new electricity aggregation program designed to provide competitive energy rates for Gahanna residents and support clean energy!
