MAYOR'S OFFICEWelcome, Orthopedic ONE!
In October, Mayor Jadwin and members of the Administration officially welcomed Orthopedic ONE, the largest physician-owned orthopedic surgery practice in Ohio, to Gahanna. Nationally recognized for their high level of experience and care for patients, Orthopedic ONE’s new facility in the Crescent at Central Park includes 60,000 square feet of physician clinic space representing all orthopedic specialties, expanded physical and occupational therapy space, and MRI services.
The new facility, located at 605 Crescent Place, immediately brings 215 physicians and associates to the City, with a starting annual total payroll of approximately $28 million. With its larger facility, Orthopedic ONE expects its Gahanna workforce to increase by roughly 10 percent within the first 10 years of operation.

The company’s expansion includes 45,455 square feet of shop and office space. PUBLIC SAFETYHeading out of town for the holidays? The Gahanna Division of Police will check on your house while you are away. All you need to do is go HERE, click on “File Report & Request," select “Vacation Check Report,” and follow the prompts from there. By letting the Division know when you will be out of town, officers will periodically walk around the outside of your home to check for the security of your windows and doors, safety concerns, property damage, and evidence of vandalism or intruders. During the overnight hours, officers will check on your home from the road, in an effort to not alert those who have Ring-style cameras. If any issues are discovered, the Division will contact you or your emergency contact.

DOG LICENSE RENEWALOur partners with the Franklin County Auditor’s Office have asked us to share that dog owners can purchase their 2025 licenses without penalty now through Friday, January 31. Dog licenses are available to purchase online HERE or at the Auditor’s Office license counter at 373 S. High St., 21st Floor, in downtown Columbus. The counter is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to being required by state law, dog licensing ensures that a dog has been vaccinated against rabies, which is required in Franklin County. It also ensures that any lost dog is quickly returned to their owners. License fees help support the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

PUBLIC SERVICEWinter Preparedness It is not too late to prepare your home for what Mother Nature brings our way this winter. The Department of Public Service urges you to do the following before we experience more cold weather or our first winter storm of the year: - Clean your gutters of leaves and debris.
- Seal cracks in your home's walls, windows, and doors.
- Protect your pipes when we experience freezing temperatures by letting your faucets drip, opening cabinets under your kitchen and bathroom sinks, and draining your pipes prior to traveling during the winter.
- Clean your chimney.
Christmas Tree Disposal You may have just put up your tree, but what will you do after the holidays? After you remove your decorations, leave your tree at your curb on your normal trash collection day, and Local Waste will collect it. Please note that any tree over 5’ must be cut in half in order for Local Waste to be able to take it. FREE Residential Services The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) offers home energy efficiency (weatherization) and safety services at no cost to income-eligible residents to help keep them warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. These programs are available all year to Franklin County residents. If you are interested in applying, or for more information, please visit MORPC.org/Programs-Services/Residential-Services/.

PARKS & RECREATIONWe are thrilled to share that our Parks & Recreation Department has received not one, but TWO, Awards of Excellence from the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association (OPRA) for programs in 2024! The Gahanna Senior Prom – a new event that was created by staff for members of the Gahanna Senior Center – won First Place for Best Community Events. The year-long Gahanna 175 Anniversary Celebration earned a Second Place Award in the category of Best Historical & Cultural Arts Program. OPRA annually evaluates parks and recreational programs and initiatives from around the state and recognizes programs and departments that are leading the way through innovative programs that enrich their communities. This year, OPRA received an historic number of nominations in multiple categories. The winners, which represent the Best of the Best from across the state, were selected from hundreds of submissions, and Gahanna was only one of 11 municipalities in Ohio that was recognized with a First Place award. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our Parks & Rec team and the support of our amazing community. Thank you for helping us make Gahanna a great place to live, work, and play!
