Hello and happy Friday! There is still a lot of holiday fun to be had this month from educational programs to fan-favorite movies. Check out our upcoming January and February programs, fill out our questionnaire, and gear up for a season of fun before our end of the year closure.

End-of-Year Closure

Just a reminder that the Senior Center will be CLOSED Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2 for our annual winter maintenance. We will reopen with bright smiles and fresh programs on Monday, January 5.

January and February Programs

Our January–February Senior Spotlight has officially arrived, and we’re excited to kick off a fresh season of activities before our annual winter closure. It’s the perfect time to discover something new, reconnect with friends, and start the new year with fun.

FREE Programs:

Registration for all free programs opened on Friday, December 12 and there’s still plenty of space available. You can register in person or online, whichever is easiest for you.

PAID Programs:

Registration for paid programs begins Monday, December 15, and will be available IN PERSON ONLY. Be sure to stop by early to secure your spot in your favorite classes.

Health and Fitness Questionnaire

As we prepare for the exciting move to our brand-new Senior Center next year, we’re planning programs that reflect your interests, your goals, and your vision for our new space. This month, we’re focusing on health and fitness, and we need your feedback! Whether you’re passionate about yoga, curious about strength training, or hoping for more balance, mobility, or wellness classes, now is the perfect time to share your ideas.

Community Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

  • Saturday, January 10
  • 10 a.m. (Doors open at 9:30 a.m.)
  • NEW Gahanna Lincoln High School Gymnasium

Be part of this special moment to officially open the new GLHS building!

Community Tours of the Old and New GLHS Buildings

Tours of the new building will begin immediately following the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. If you’re not attending the ceremony, tours will start at 11 a.m.

Enjoy a self-guided walk through a designated route showcasing favorite spaces and unique features in both the old and new buildings.

Last tour entry: 2:30 p.m. | Doors close: 3 p.m.

Parking & Shuttle Information

Parking on-site is limited. Visitors are encouraged to park at Clark Hall and use the free District shuttles.

  • Shuttle service to the Ribbon Cutting begins at 9:15 a.m. and will pause during the ceremony.
  • After the ceremony, shuttles will run continuously between Clark Hall and both GLHS buildings from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Holiday Bingo

Monday, December 15 at 1 p.m.

Get ready for some holly-jolly fun! Join us for a special holiday-themed bingo session hosted by Santa himself. It’s the perfect way to share some laughter, enjoy time with friends, and get into the spirit of the season. 

All participants are asked to bring a $3–$5 wrapped gift to contribute to our festive prize exchange. And don’t forget to show off your most delightfully tacky style and wear your ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win an extra prize!

Lunch and Learn: Hospice Myths and Facts

Tuesday December 16 at 12 p.m.

Join us for an informative and supportive Lunch and Learn as we explore the many myths and facts about hospice care. This session will shed light on what hospice truly offers, how it supports individuals and families, and when it might be the right choice for you or a loved one. Bring your questions, enjoy lunch, and leave with a clearer understanding of this important resource.
