The City Attorney is the legal advisor of and attorney and counsel for the City, and for all officers and departments thereof in matters relating to their official duties.
The City Attorney prosecutes or defends all suits for and on behalf of the City, and prepares all contracts, bonds, and other written instruments concerning the City. The City Attorney is also the prosecuting attorney for the City, handling all misdemeanor and traffic offenses committed in the City through Mayor’s Court or the Franklin County Municipal Court.
